Gunners fans is one thing that we are not short of here in the Football Transfer Tavern (we’ll leave you to decide whether or not that is a good thing) and there is one thing they are all pining for, to see their side finally get their hands back on the Premier League title.

Last season was another case of so close yet so far for Wenger’s side, as they finished the season in 2nd, what many would deem a successful season – but not those pesky Gooners.

Should the title finally make it’s way back to North London this season, Le Prof is going to have to draw some unbelievable performances from his players, including a few from the fringes of the squad.

With that in mind a group of Gunners fans in the bar today have come up with a list of THREE players that they are tipping to surprise fans this coming season…

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The former Southampton youngster arrived at the Emirates full of promise back in 2011 but is yet to make a spot in Wenger’s first team selection his own.

The 22-year-old has struggled with injuries over the last 12 months, however, given a good run in the side the Ox can really take the chance and realise his potential.

Calum Chambers

A man with a real point to prove, another arrival from the Saint who still hasn’t gone onto do what was expected when he signed.

Given the chance to prove himself the England international can be an imposing presence in the back line, something crucial in a sides success across the season.

Jack Wilshere

This one may seem a strange addition to the list, having been around the first team squad for a long time now, however the Gunners’ academy graduate can stun the world by potentially going a season without injury.

The 24-year-old has succumbed to 11 injuries since making his debut for the club against Blackburn in 2008.
