We here in the Transfer Tavern understand that Chelsea are looking to allow Cesc Fabregas to leave the club, whether it be on a permanent or loan basis- As reported by many sources such as the Guardian here.

The Spanish central midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea since the arrival of Antonio Conte. Mostly due to the new system he plays and how well the likes of N’Golo Kante has been playing thus far.

The 29-year-old had even been linked with fellow Premier League side West Ham United as reported in September- with both club and player unhappy, it seems that it’s only a matter of time before they part ways.

Fabregas, however, is not the only player that Chelsea should be looking to off-load this January- we feel they should look to either sell or loan these players out for the player and the clubs sake.

With that in mind, here are THREE players to follow him out in the New Year.

ASMIR BEGOVIC

The Bosnian is a much-needed back-up at Chelsea, so this move is more for the player himself.

The former Stoke City goalkeeper on his day was among the very best in the Premier League and now he finds himself warming the Chelsea bench.

They currently have Eduardo, who signed from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of whom would suffice as a back-up when called on.

TODD KANE

Who, some of you may ask?

Todd Kane is a 23-year-old defender who has been at the heart of the well-known loan system at the club.

Having spent time with their feeder club Vitesse, as well as spells on-loan in the lower English leagues.

Despite his desires to be a regular at Chelsea, at the age of 23 he is still relatively young but for his career, he’ll need a move away from the Bridge.

JOHN OBI MIKEL

John Obi Mikel, is a quality player who we feel is under utilized at Chelsea, though at 29-years-old he isn’t getting any younger and need’s regular first team football.

The Nigerian has always floated in and out of the Chelsea starting XI, but currently under Conte he’s not even getting close to the first team.

A permanent move would suit both parties the best in his situation.
