The Southampton fans are currently having a couple of celebratory pints of TT Ale in The Transfer Tavern, to toast the club’s recent new additions to the squad.
Earlier in the summer there was dark cloud over St Mary’s Stadium, following Ronald Koeman’s decision to leave the club to take over at Everton.
Following Koeman’s exit both Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle also left the South Coast Premier League side for pastures new leaving new manager Claude Puel with the task of rebuilding his squad to improve on their sixth place finish last season.
With the rigours of competing in the Europa League on a Thursday night next season the new manager will need plenty of cover in all positions to avoid a potential burn out for his players.
In recent days the club have added goalkeeper Alex McCarthy and Claude Pied, who join Nathan Redmond and Pierre-Emile Hjoberg at the club for next season.
So the landlord here in The Tavern has been going through potential transfer targets for the Saints and come up with three names of players who could follow McCarthy and Pied to St Mary’s this summer……
Saido Berahino

The West Bromwich Albion striker could make the move to Southampton this summer following his club agreeing a £16 million deal to take Diafra Sakho to The Hawthorns this summer.
Southampton were linked with a move last month and could be tempted to come in with an offer should West Brom make it clear they want to sell, and following the departures of both Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle this summer the club are open to strengthening their strike options, before the window closes at the end of the month.
Calum Chambers

Young Arsenal defender Chambers could be sent out on loan by Arsene Wenger in a bid, to get the 21-year-old regular first team football to get him ready to become a permanent fixture for the North London.
It would be of no surprise if Southampton made an offer to take their former player on a season long loan deal should he become available.
Jese

Our landlord thinks the Real Madrid forward is absolutely perfect for the South Coast Premier League side.
Rated at £15 million by the punters here in the Tavern, he would be the ideal replacement for Mane but it remains to be seen if the club will be tempted to make a move for the 23-year-old, who didn’t complete 90 minutes in 28 appearances for the Spanish giants last season.
