Chelsea have some of the best youth products in the country.

Unfortunately, a lot of them get loaned out rather than being given a chance in the first team. Eventually, most of them get sold on but that’s doesn’t mean there is no talent at Stamford Bridge, quite the contrary.

The Chelsea youth team has won the FA Youth Cup three consecutive times and 4 times in the last 5 seasons. In the season that they weren’t victorious, they lost 4-2 in the final to Norwich City.

Clearly, the Chelsea youth have talent but it’s just about giving them that chance to breakthrough into the first team and show what they can do.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is one of the few that has been given the opportunity but even he has not had the best of time for the first team.

However, the punters here at the Transfer Tavern have spotted FOUR of the brightest U21 sparks in the Chelsea team that they think will make the jump into the first team very soon.

Tammy Abraham

Abraham was invited to join the first team on the Pre Season tour of the USA this season.

However, upon his return, he was loaned out to Championship side Bristol City.

Nevertheless, he has shined for the Robins and has scored 6 times in 7 league appearances.

He has made two appearances already for the Blues first team as Guus Hiddink spotted his talent last season. He came off the bench against Liverpool and made his home debut against Leicester the following week.

The future is bright for Abraham.

Fikayo Tomori

Like Abraham, Tomori also made an appearance for the Blues in their final home game of the season against Premier League champions, Leicester City.

The defender was part of the U21 squad that won the FA Youth cup and UEFA Youth league in 2015 and 2016 and deserved his call up to the Blues first team.

He is fast and strong and is real presence at the heart of defence.

Our landlord has seen the youngster on many occasions and claims that he will be the next big thing, so remember the name because we think you will be seeing a lot more of him in the near future!

Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke is one of the best young talents currently at Chelsea’s disposal.

The 19-year-old prefers playing as a striker but is equally adept at playing on the wings, or as an attacking midfielder behind the striker.

He has represented England up to U21 level, too.

He is yet to make an appearance for the first team but was loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem last season and scored an impressive seven goals in 25 league appearances.

Hopefully we will see more of him this season in the first team.

Charlie Wakefield

The 18-year-old is probably less likely than the other three to make a breakthrough into the first team anytime soon, but is still blessed with plenty of ability.

He predominantly plays at right back but is equally capable at playing on the right hand side of midfield.

Ivanovic is the current right back at Chelsea and has been a consistent performer for a number of years, but as his career slowly fades out, Chelsea will be hoping that Wakefield can emerge in the shadows and burst on to the scene.

The punters here at the Tavern believe that he has a lot of ability and if given the chance, he could make the step up to the senior side.
