Jordon Ibe’s £15 million transfer to Bournemouth has been confirmed. The young winger/attacking midfielder has parted ways with the Merseyside club in search of more regular first team football.

With that transfe, coupled with Jurgen Klopp’s inevitable intentions of winning the league sometime soon, rumours have been circulating of a few more players that could be following Ibe out the door on Merseyside.

Maybe these players need more first team football, maybe they’ve had their time at the highest level and are too old now to be up there or maybe they’ve outgrown the club?

Whatever the reason, you can safely assume that Klopp will be very busy this summer, with deals both in and out of the club.

That being said, all the Reds fans drinking at the Transfer Tavern today you best get another round in as we discuss the 4 players who could follow Ibe out of Liverpool.

Lucas Leiva

Lucas has always seemed to be there or there about in terms of a first team spot. He’ll go through months of being a key figure in the first team, get injured, and then return to the bottom of the pecking order only to work his way back up to repeat the process.

When he joined the Reds, he was arguably one of the young best central defensive midfielders in the world and now he’s more of that guy you can rely on to give you a six or seven out of ten every game, which at times can be very beneficial to your team.

Still, unfortunately for Lucas, there are better options for Klopp out there.

The Brazilian wouldn’t struggle to find a new team as well, he may even fit in nicely in another Premier League side, it’s just if Klopp is building a Liverpool squad to eventually challenge for the league title.

At 29 he should move on sooner before he is sitting on the bench or even worse, playing for the reserves later.

Mario Balotelli

It’s easy to forget that Mario Balotelli is still actually a Liverpool player. The man formerly known as ‘Super Mario’ spent last season on loan back at A.C Milan where he scored only one goal in 20 appearances, 12 of which came as a substitute.

One of the world’s deadliest strikers only a few years ago, Balotellie seems to have peaked early as the 25-year old now finds himself completely out of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool plans and not knowing whether or not he has a future in Milan.

It’s no secret the Reds fans along with the board and manager don’t want him at the club, he’s just not the player he used to be.

It is likely he will return to Milan on a permanent basis, even if he doesn’t it is just a matter of waiting for his contract to run out so Liverpool can release him on a free.

Christian Benteke

Another striker surplus to Liverpool’s requirements next season is Christian Benteke.

Much like the aforementioned Italian, he has had a tough time of it on Merseyside.

The only difference is, the towering Belgian is still the prolific striker he was at Aston Villa, he just doesn’t fit into Klopp’s style of play and his vision for the club going forward.

The 25-year old striker has been linked with Crystal Palace and has already been warned by Klopp that if he stays, he won’t play.

A pretty clear signal that you are no longer required.

If the rumours of an Eagles move are true, Benteke could be born again under Alan Pardew, but only time will tell on that front.

The one thing that is for certain right now, Benteke almost certainly won’t be wearing a Liverpool kit next season.

Joe Allen

Joe Allen was easily one of Wales’ best players at Euro 2016.

It’s hard to know where he pulled those performances from, but they’ve certainly been lacking when he wears the red of Liverpool and not the red of Wales.

Allen was fantastic in France this summer, he was Wales’ engine in that he never stopped running, next stopped chasing the ball and without him, the Dragon would have been a much weaker side.

Since the European championships, the 26-year old has been linked with moves from teams such as Manchester United, all the way to Serie A’s own Inter Milan.

Whether or not he decides to hand in a transfer request, or whether Klopp has already made his intentions clear to the player for next season, if Allen continues those kind of performances then he would be a valuable asset to any side.
