Gaston Ramirez, Sadio Mane, Victor Wanyama and now Graziano Pelle.

The Saints are having a real yard sale this summer, releasing the likes of Ramirez, whilst selling Sadio Mane to Liverpool for a whopping £34 million.

With Wanyama likely to have costs Spurs have silver penny or two, and Pelle’s move confirmed to the Chinese Super League this week, Southampton should now have some spare cash to reinvest.

Nathan Redmond and midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are the only incomers so far, with the former arriving from Norwich for £11 million, whilst the latter arrived this week from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee.

Pelle scored 11 goals last season, as well as bagging 6 assists, and will leave a huge void to be filled before next season.

Here are FIVE potential replacements that the Saints should summon to St Mary’s for the upcoming campaign…..

Saido Berahino

Considered wasted last season at West Brom, the 22-year old has gone from hero to zero over the past two seasons.

Scoring 20 goals in the 2014-15 campaign, he did not look quite the same player last season after so much disruption during last summers transfer window.

Still young, and clearly talented it isn’t hard to understand why several premier league clubs are lining up for him this summer. Having just rejected a 4 year contract to stay at the Hawthorns, it looks almost certain he will move on this summer.

It is not clear whether West Brom still value him at £25 million, but The Saints could do a lot worse than invest in such a young player who has already proven himself at this level.

Cristian Tello

Not quite a like-for-like replacement for Pelle, Cristian Tello usually operates as winger, but is a capable goal scorer.

The Barcelona player can play upfront, and with his lightening pace and quality he would be a sure thing to bang in some goals next season.

Having spent the last few seasons on loan at the likes of Porto and Fiorentina, now 24, it seems Tello is looking for first team football.

He has already been linked with Swansea and Spurs this summer, but if Southampton were to swoop in quickly a first team spot at St Marys might be tempting for the Ex-Espanyol player.

Mario Balotelli 

Not likely to be a popular choice with his history of disruption and crazy antics – both on and off the field, there is no denying that Mario Balotelli does have quality.

Liverpool will hopefully have acted as a wake up call to the Italian, with the hope that he is now looking to kick on with his career and show people what he is really capable of.

Still only 25, despite the risk that he brings, he could be the perfect replacement for Graziano Pelle, and would likely come cheap with Liverpool looking to unload the striker this summer.

Lucas Pérez

One of the top goal scorers in La Liga last season, Lucas Perez has been plying his trade at Deportivo for the last couple of seasons.

Grabbing 17 goals last year, and 8 assists the Spaniard would make a great addition to The Saints strike force next season.

Leicester were linked to the 27 year old back in May, with the Deportivo looking for £15 million according to TalkSport. However talk seems to have gone quiet as of late, which might present an opportunity for Southampton to make enquiries.

Jackson Martinez

Likely to cost more than any of the other suggestions, Jackson Martinez made a £35 million move to China last summer. Just 6 months down the road however and the striker was reported to be already looking for a way out of the Chinese Super League.

The player clearly has talent, scoring 67 goals in 90 appearances during his time with Porto, earning his place as top scorer in all 3 of his seasons in Portugal . He then had a brief spell with Atletico Madrid before his move to Guangshou Evergrande.

Nicknamed “Cha Cha Cha” for his dance-like moves on the pitch, he has been described as an out and out goalscorer who can finish with both feet.

He would make an exceptional signing next season if Southampton’s owners were willing dig deep for the 29 year old Colombian this summer.
