Newcastle and West Ham fans are here at the Tavern tonight and both have heard about a potential move for Andre Gray.
Gray’s contract with Burnley runs out next year and off the back of that, he has been linked with a move away from the club.
Newcastle and West Ham seem to be among the favourites – per Bleacher Report – to land the striker, but who should he go for should it come down to those two clubs?
With, Newcastle, you have a newly promoted side with a veteran manager that is seemingly there to stay and one of the biggest clubs in England.
At West Ham, however, you have another big club with a lot of history, a nice new stadium to play in and hopefully, better fortunes than last time out during the 16/17 season.
Our landlord seems to think it should be Newcastle that Gray chooses and on that note, here are two reasons why the Burnley man should make the switch to Tyneside.
Delusions of Grandeur?

Over the past few summers or so, the east London outfit have been linked with pretty much every striker under the footballing sun.
Indeed, some pretty big targets have been touted – such as Alexandre Lacazette and Carlos Bacca – so the idea of ending up with Andre Gray may serve as a relative disappointment to those clad in claret and blue.
It’s a better move in the long run

In the long run, Newcastle have more to look forward to than West Ham.
The Hammers were seemingly on the rise a few seasons back with Dmitri Payet firing them to seventh place and a positive goal difference for the first time in the Premier League era.
Last season, that all fell apart and whilst West Ham were falling on tough times, the Magpies won the Championship, snatching it away from Brighton in the last few weeks of the season.
Now, the Toon Army have Benitez, a good squad with a few good deals coming in and the potential to once again reinforce themselves as a solid Premier League side yet again, after that who knows what they could achieve.
