The Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are not enjoying life at Stamford Bridge at the moment.

It has been a very tough few weeks for the Blues, and a recent loss to Roma has really soured the mood amongst the fans in the Transfer Tavern. The Blues were expected to win the game, but they really struggled to leave their mark in Rome, and in truth, Antonio Conte was embarrassed on the night.

That, unsurprisingly, has led to a few circling rumours in the Transfer Tavern, with reports in Spain, primarily from Marca, suggesting that Roman Abramovich has already made the decision to move the manager on at the end of the season.

It would certainly be a disappointing move, though it wouldn’t be much of a shock. Chelsea managers often have a short shelf life, and we’ve seen nothing to suggest that Conte’s tenure will be any different.

When he leaves, though, a few players could go out of the door with him for one reason or another, and the fans in the pub have been discussing who might also make the jump.

With that said, these two players should follow Antonio Conte out of Chelsea if he’s sacked…

Cesc Fabregas

The Spaniard is not enjoying the best of seasons and the plethora of games he’s having to play is making the midfielder maestro look tired and jaded.

He’s really struggled, and it doesn’t make much sense why Antonio Conte has placed so much faith in him.

His poor form, combined with the fact that he’s already in his 30s, means that his time at Chelsea is undoubtedly running out. It remains to be seen, though, when that departure will come. The next few weeks and months could determine his long-term future.

Charly Musonda

Charly Musonda is a young player with bags of talent, and at present, it looks like he could follow a similar path to a few of his teammates.

Nathaniel Chalobah made waves over the summer by leaving the club in search of first-team football, and it would not be a surprise to see Musonda take the same path. He has hardly featured in the Premier League this season, and that’s not befitting of a player of his quality.

He knows that he needs to play, and if Chelsea can’t guarantee him regular football, he isn’t going to stay. The departure of Antonio Conte isn’t likely to change his mind, Chelsea’s lack of focus on youth development is systematic.
