Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to have a better winter than summer transfer window as they look ahead to January.

One of the recent names that are rumoured with a move away is out of favour centre-back David Luiz, not something of a surprise after a few recent bust-ups with manager Antonio Conte, the Brazilian is a supposed target for Man United, or so our glass collector heard through the grapevine.

However, according to reports his former boss, Jose Mourinho is set to be keen on bringing him to Old Trafford and given that his ex-teammate Nemanja Matic made the move north in the summer, our punters don’t think it’s a crazy idea.

Chelsea are currently third in the league and Conte, after a disastrous summer window, should be looking to strengthen and rejuvenate his pack in hoping for a better winter window for the Stamford Bridge side.

Tiemoue Bakayoko

The French midfielder hasn’t made the best of starts in his first half of a debut season with Chelsea after a summer move from Monaco, although he has had some slight injury concerns. However, he needs to improve his game dramatically to get to the standard of the Premier League if he’s to impress boss Antonio Conte.

Defensively, he’s been out of sorts and he’s not really taken advantage of his athletic build and pace. With that in mind, Conte may look to offload the former Monaco man early, if he doesn’t see the improvement he needs.

Kenedy

After being sent home pre-season and not really living up to expectations at the Bridge, Kenedy saw a move to Newcastle on a season-long loan collapse during the summer window.

Seemingly not in Conte’s plans, it looked like the Brazilian’s days at Chelsea would be wasted if he stayed.

Conte may give him a chance of redemption in cup games, though with the left winger now playing a left wing-back role within the Italian’s formation, he may seek a move to play in the role that feels more natural to him and having been recently re-linked with Newcastle, a move to the north looks likely once again.
