Stoke City are going well in the Premier League but some of their fans here in the Tavern have become frustrated after Bojan Krkic was allowed to leave on loan on Sunday.

The former Barcelona wonder-kid, who broke the record to become the youngest ever player to represent the Catalonian giants a few years back, has left to join Mainz, where he will stay until the end of the campaign.

But you get the feeling here in the pub that some Potters fans think the Spanish forward should have been given the chance to prove himself a little more at the Britannia, with a big few months ahead for the Potters.

Still, with Saido Berahino coming in from West Bromwich Albion earlier this window, he’s been deemed surplus to requirements- a decision that could come back to bite Mark Hughes.

So, with that in mind, here’s 3 reasons why Stoke could really regret letting the talented forward go this January…

He’s got a real ability to change games

It’s no secret that Bojan Krkic is well-travelled and for a 26-year-old, he’s certainly done his fair share of moving around.

But wherever he’s been in the world, whether at Barcelona, Roma, Ajax or even Stoke City, we’ve seen the forward have the ability to change a game.

He’s not a prolific scorer in the slightest but his skill on the ball has proven decisive on more occasions than not during his travels.

As an option, he gives Stoke something different

Stoke have some real out-and-out scorers in their ranks with the likes of Saido Berahino and Wilfried Bony now in their side.

But in Bojan, they have a creative man who has more than enough talent to change games and certainly an outlet upfront that offers something that little for the Potters.

He’s started and come on in games in some of Europe’s biggest divisions and Mainz are very lucky to have a player of Bojan’s talent now in their ranks.

Stoke’s reliance on Marko Arnautovic increases

Marko Arnautovic has always been the main man at Stoke City and the willingness to let Bojan move on has seen his importance rise tenfold in this current Potters outfit.

Berahino will undoubtedly come in and score goals but when it comes to creativity, flair and running, it’s the Austrian who at times, really pulls the strings at the Britannia.

Injuries, loss in form or suspension to either him or Berahino could really see the Potters struggle going forward.
