Nottingham Forest are hopeful that this season after spending big in the transfer window, promotion can be a realistic aim.

They're among the top spenders in the division and that could leave them with a good chance at achieving big things this coming season. Their start to the Championship has filled fans with optimism and hope because of the talent now flushing through their squad, something they haven't had in a long time.

With time still to go in the transfer window, it is advisable for Forest that they continue to try and strengthen whilst they can, specifically by planning a re-union with Kieran Dowell - who is valued at £2.7 million on Transfermarkt.

The young 20-year-old spent last season at the City Ground on-loan with Nottingham Forest and during his 38 Championship appearances, he scored nine goals and provided four assists to ensure that his time with Forest was deemed a successful one. Everton realised that potential of his too in pre-season as Dowell impressed new boss Marco Silva but not necessarily enough to bag a permanent place in the first team.

His footballing ability is great and Nottingham Forest need to get him back to the club if they wish to have a proper go at promotion. Dowell, as they know, can play in an array of positions from his normal central-midfield, to either side of the wing.

This versatility comes in handy especially in a Championship side, who require a lot of squad depth just to make it through 46 games in a season. Dowell is an Englishman with immense potential and to bring out the best of him, regular football is the key.
