Time is running out: 2 problems that Chelsea must solve before the window closes

Chelsea supporters in the Transfer Tavern are conscious of the fact that the summer’s transfer window concludes in less than two weeks’ time.

The chaos ensued by the eventful summer period will likely intensify over the course of the next two weeks, as the transfer window approaches its conclusion. Teams will frantically be vying to complete deals to ensure that their sides are augmented to the best of their abilities.

In Chelsea’s case, it is easy to foresee that the Champions will be active in the transfer market over the course of the next fortnight. Antonio Conte has reiterated his desire to improve squad depth on countless occasions this summer, and the club could face a rather precarious situation, should they opt not to support their manager. Accordingly, our landlord has highlighted two problems that the Blues must address before the conclusion of the transfer window

1)No cover at wing-backs

Both Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses alike performed heroically as Chelsea dominated the Premier League to lift their fifth title. Nonetheless, in a season in which the Pensioners are competing in four major competitions, the club needs more players in this role. Whether these recruits are back-ups to Moses and Alonso, or players prepared to take their place in the starting eleven, Chelsea must sign two wing-backs before the window closes.

2)No depth in midfield

The importance of talented midfielders has been unquestionable since Antonio Conte opted to institute the 3-4-3 formation. The Blues face an undesired situation this weekend, where N’Golo Kante is the only senior CM who’s fully fit and not suspended for their clash against Spurs. Despite the wealth of talent and experience that Kante, Fabregas, and Bakayoko flaunt, another midfielder is crucial to Chelsea’s hopes of glory.
