The Huddersfield fans in the Tavern tonight are looking forward to seeing their new signings in action next season.

It has been 45 years since Huddersfield Town last lined up for a top-flight game in England and their fans are understandably excited.

Given the fact that Huddersfield went up through the play-offs last season, it can be argued that they have the weakest side going into the new season.

David Wagner has made his fair share of new signings already in this transfer window, so he may want to think about who to let go soon.

With all the new additions, it is clear Wagner thinks there are some players who have hit their level in the Championship.

It isn’t uncommon for players to have trouble adapting to the nature of the Premier League, one of the toughest leagues in the world.

With that being said, here are two Huddersfield players who are seriously out of depth in the Premier League.

Dean Whitehead

Despite recently being offered a new contract by Huddersfield, it is hard to imagine him featuring much in the first team next season.

At 35-years-old he is well past his prime, not that he was much of a standout player during those years.

He is a veteran of the game and of the Premier League but better alternatives have been signed this transfer window to replace him.

This season could prove to be his last so would he really be happy spending it warming the bench?

Harry Bunn

When Harry Bunn signed for Huddersfield from Man City three years ago, it looked like they had received a player with great potential.

Unfortunately, three seasons later and that reality hasn’t quite come true.

Unfortunately for him, that isn’t down to a lack of talent.

A series of injuries have resulted in him not developing into the player many thought he could be.

Now that Huddersfield are in the Premier League, there is no room for passengers, so Wagner should move him on soon.
