Time to get real: These 2 Liverpool players are seriously out of their depth

Liverpool Supporters in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the final of the Premier League Asia trophy against Leicester City.

Having defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 in the Premier League Asia trophy, our resident Reds are hopeful that they’ll be able to win the pre-season competition against Leicester City this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s side flaunts undefeated record this pre-season having triumphed against Tranmere Rovers and Crystal Palace while drawing against Wigan Athletic.

In addition to their pre-season fixtures, Klopp has overseen the process of acquiring two new signings.

Both Dominic Solanke and Mohammed Salah have scored their first Liverpool goals while on pre-season, as the club continue their relentless pursuit of RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita.

Much of the excitement that surrounds the Reds can be attributed with their new signings, yet our landlord has decided to focus on two existing members of their squad who are struggling to make a meaningful impression.

Ragnar Klavan

The 31-year-old was uninspiring in his first season at Liverpool; it seems that he was unable to accustom himself with the gruelling physical demands and the unrivalled tempo of the Premier League. Furthermore, the Estonian’s involvement with the Reds could be limited, if Jurgen Klopp’s pursuit of a centre-half is successful – Virgil Van Dijk has been one of their most prominent transfer targets.

Alberto Moreno

The former Sevilla defender has struggled desperately to make a purposeful impact during his three seasons at Anfield, and last term the 25-year-old’s involvement decreased enormously. Liverpool’s left-back only registered ten league games and 16 appearances in all competitions. While considering the imminent arrival of Andrew Robertson, Moreno’s career as a Red is seemingly over.
