The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping Jurgen Klopp can get rid of some of the club’s dead weight before the window closes.

For the past few seasons, Liverpool have seemingly been one or two players away from seriously challenging for the league title.

However, something that isn’t discussed much when talking about Liverpool’s title hopes are the players who they could do with getting rid of.

A bad player can have just as much of an impact on the side as a good player can and Liverpool have their fair share of bad players within their ranks.

For every Michael Owen, there is an Andy Carroll and for every Xabi Alonso, there is an Alberto Aquilani.

Getting rid of these players from your squad can prove to be just as important to a side, whether they are bringing the sides morale down or not contributing on the pitch, these players can be toxic to a team.

On that note, here are two players Klopp might want to get rid of, or else they could hold Liverpool back next season…

Alberto Moreno

Alberto Moreno isn’t necessarily a bad player, he isn’t good enough for Liverpool by any stretch of the imagination but he’s not terrible.

However, with the addition of Andrew Robertson from Hull, first team football for Moreno looks like it will get harder and harder to come by.

It has never really clicked for him at Liverpool with his most infamous moment coming in the Europa League final in which he had possibly the worst game of his career.

Our landlord thinks a move away would be best for the left back and it is hard to disagree.

Lazar Markovic

When your boss comes out and tells the media you’re free to leave the club, it is obvious he considers you a liability.

Another player who could hold Liverpool back next season should he not get a move away, Lazar Markovic is a reminder of the Brendan Rogers era of Liverpool which could account for why he failed.

He came to the club with high expectations but with much better players ahead of him in the pecking order, it is doubtful that he will have any positive impact on the side.
