Tottenham fans are in the Transfer Tavern tonight are growing more and more concerned about the lack of activity in the summer window.
Tottenham will surely be heading into the new Premier League campaign looking to become champions of England.
Following on from a third-place finish two years ago and a second-place finish last time out, their squad is going from strength to strength and champions is the next natural step for them.
The morale and form of a team can turn on a dime however, and Mauricio Pochettino will want to make sure that will not happen with his side.
Something that can contribute to that, are players who either don’t want to be at the club, tired of a lack of playing time or who just aren’t very good.
Spurs have a bit of trouble with their squad, their starting 11 is one of the best in the league but their bench and reserves just aren’t up to a title challenge.
With that being said, here are two Spurs players who are at risk of holding Tottenham back next season.
Moussa Sissoko
Despite the rumours circulating that Spurs flop, Moussa Sissoko still has a role to play at the club, our landlord is not convinced.
He reckons it would be best for everyone if the French midfielder moved onto a different venture at a new club.
For whatever reason, it just hasn’t worked out for him in London and with West Brom reportedly interested in his signature, the move could be completed soon.
What if he has another terrible season? He’ll be unhappy at the club and no one will want to buy him due to bad form.
It would just be best to get the deal done now.
Vincent Janssen
To put it plain and simple, Vincent Janssen is not a good enough backup for Harry Kane. Our landlord doesn’t even think he’s a good enough third choice!
Another player who came to the club with high praise and expectations but who has fallen flat upon his arrival.
Tottenham need to get a better backup in case Kane finds himself injured or just in need of a rest.
If they want to win the Premier League title, it is doubtful that Janssen would be a part of that.
