West Bromwich Albion fans in the Transfer Tavern have watched their side be as uninspiring in the transfer market, as they were in their build-up play last season.

The players and coaching staff have just touched back down in the UK after spending a week in Hong Kong for the Premier League Asia Trophy.

Tony Pulis’ side had to settle for fourth place after being beaten by Leicester on penalties and going down 2-0 to Crystal Palace.

However, the main objective to increase player fitness was achieved and the Baggies boss would have been impressed with Jay Rodriguez’s stamina.

The England international, who signed for West Brom earlier in the month has been hampered by injury in recent years, but was Albion’s best performer in Hong Kong.

Pulis desperately needs to recruit more exciting players like Rodriguez or is at risk of boring the Hawthorns crowd next season.

There are a number of players who could be accused of holding Albion back. We’ve picked out TWO who Pulis needs to let go…

 James Morrison

The 31- year-old suffered medial ligament damage last month in Scotland’s 2-2 World Cup qualifier draw with England.

Morrison reaches 10 years of service at West Brom in August, but Pulis has no time sentiment.

The midfielder was not at it last season, scoring five and assisting two in his 31 games for the Baggies.

Hal Robson-Kanu

The Wales international stepped off the bench an incredible 24 times last season, but was unable to make his mark in Pulis’ side.

Robson-Kanu cemented himself as a national hero for during Wales’ Euro 2016 campaign, but is just making up the numbers at West Brom.

The 28 year-old should try his luck elsewhere.
