What a shocker of a season West Ham are continuing to have this year, and our resident Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern are starting to feel a bit desperate.

The club just simply have not got going this season despite having a similar squad to the one that did so well last year, and so the blame game is beginning to be played amongst the claret and blue faithful.

Some reckon it’s because of the move to the London Stadium and that it just simply doesn’t match up to Upton Park.

Then, others think it’s down to the players who just haven’t performed anywhere near as well as they should and can this year in many games.

And finally, there’s those beginning to think it’s Slaven Bilic’s fault of whom our landlord is one.

There are better managers out there according to the main man here in the Transfer Tavern and these are the two that he has in mind…

Roberto Mancini

The Italian knows what it takes to win titles so he’d be the exact kind of manager the club should be looking to appoint if they are serious about their ambitious plans for the future.

West Ham moved stadium in a bid to become a European force so they need to make a managerial statement to suggest that further.

Mancini is a huge name in the game and would surely get the players going straight away.

Rafael Benitez

Another big name in European football is Rafael Benitez who is currently working wonders at Newcastle United this season in the Championship.

The Magpies look very good for promotion to the Premier League with them being five points clear whilst he’s also managed some of the biggest clubs in world football.

He’d get West Ham organised and thus, straight up the league table away from the bottom three.
