Tom Heaton linked with move to Leeds United

Burnley will be desperate to return to winning ways after the international break as they failed to secure all three points against Leicester City last time out.

The Clarets have failed to live up to expectations this season after securing a European spot in the last campaign, with relegation potentially becoming a worry. And, it appears as if one of the clubs first team members is attracting interest, as according to Team Talk, Leeds United have been linked with a move for Tom Heaton.

Leeds will reportedly turn to a former England goalkeeper in January after the club confirmed Jamal Blackman had been sent back to parent club Chelsea after he sustained a fractured tibia.

Interestingly, Leeds have already been linked with a potential swoop for Burnley’s Tom Heaton, with the former England man edged down the pecking order at Turf Moor over the past two seasons.

Indeed, the likes of Nick Pope and Joe Hart remain ahead of the experienced shot-stopper, so an exit seems like the only option at this stage in his career.

THE VERDICT:

Tom Heaton has no option but to move away from Turf Moor in the January transfer window, with a move to Leeds United still offering him a good level of football.

Joe Hart has been simply sensational for the Clarets since joining from Manchester City and Pope is one of the most promising ‘keepers in English football, so it was always going to be impossible for him to break into the side.
