There have been many pints raised to Tony Pulis by West Brom fans in the Transfer Tavern in recent times.

And why not? The Welshman has done a brilliant job at the Hawthorns so far this season and has really captured the imagination of our resident Baggies, who have chewed off their ear of the Tavern landlord whilst telling him how happy they are with their side.

No one drinking at the Tavern is surprised that Pulis is getting his side to perform so admirably so far this season, seeing that he has done decent jobs previously with both Stoke and Palace, which has seen him establish himself as one of the more reliable bosses in the Premier League.

Though with that said, there is no doubt that West Brom have been fortunate with most of their squad being able to stay fit throughout the course of the season, meaning more consistent performances have been easier to produce.

Our landlord believes that some of the fringe players on the West Brom squad have been real victims of the strong injury record maintained by the club.

He just simply can’t believe some of the names that have not been given a run in the Baggies’ side this season, though the West Brom fans in the Tavern are not complaining.

Here are just TWO of the players our landlord believes Pulis should be utilising more in his West Brom side…

Hal Robson-Kanu

With first choice striker, Salomon Rondon currently experiencing an eleven game goal drought – Baggies fans in the Tavern are keen to see what Robson-Kanu especially when they cast their minds back to THAT goal he scored against Belgium at Euro 2016.

Although Rondon’s last goals for West Brom were part of a hat-trick against Swansea in the Premier League, eleven games is a long time and our landlord believes that introducing Robson-Kanu could act as a release of the pressure placed on the Venezuelan for goals.

James McClean

Whilst our Landlord appreciates that West Brom have a lot of options in wide areas, he certainly believes that the talents of McClean have not been utilised enough this season.

The Irishman has something about him that enables him to create opportunities for his team mates and with Matt Phillips missing last week’s game and Nacer Chadli showing inconsistencies – could now be the time to use McClean to inject some energy to this West Brom side?
