Tottenham Hotspur send enquiry over deadline day signing of “intelligent” former Chelsea star

Share

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs this summer, with Roberto De Zerbi overseeing a major rebuild.

Spurs have brought in Sávio, Omar Marmoush, Andrew Robertson, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and other major reinforcements, while they have also been exploring moves for Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo.

Despite the scale of their spending, consecutive pre-season defeats have seemingly encouraged Tottenham to keep looking for further additions.

And now, a familiar former Chelsea star has emerged as a potential deadline-day target.

Tottenham Enquire for Pulisic

Tottenham have made an enquiry about AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic, according to TEAMtalk, with Spurs considering the United States international as an alternative to Cody Gakpo, who is staying put at Liverpool.

The 27-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs, and Tottenham are now among those to have checked on his availability as they assess their options for the final hours of the transfer window.

Pulisic has enjoyed an impressive spell in Italy since leaving Chelsea, although his current campaign has been disrupted by injury. He was absent from Milan’s 2-0 Serie A victory over Venezia on Friday as he continues his recovery.

The American’s versatility and Premier League experience make him an appealing option for De Zerbi, particularly with Tottenham still looking to add more attacking quality.

Pulisic was previously coached by Stefano Pioli at Milan, with the former Rossoneri boss praising his football intelligence and describing him as “very intelligent.”

With the deadline approaching, Spurs could yet make one more major move before the window closes.
