Some Spurs fans have commented on the future of Christian Eriksen after the news that Atletico Madrid seem to be pushing for James Rodriguez instead, according to Marca.
The Dane’s future was put in doubt when he was quoted as saying he was ready for a new challenge and even hinted at wanting to play for Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have been doing their best to try and encourage the former Ajax man to stay and have reportedly (per the Mail) offered him double his current wages to stay with the north London outfit.
Eriksen joined the Lilywhites back in 2013 for £11.5million and since then has made 277 appearances, scoring 66 goals and providing 86 assists.
Giovani Lo Celso is someone who is thought to be a potential replacement for the 27-year-old if he is to leave Mauricio Pochettino’s men this summer, while they have already made the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon for a club-record fee.
Now, there are seemingly a lot of conflicting opinions among some Spurs fans with regards to Eriksen and his future at the club.
Here is just some of the reaction:
I think Christian should stay, just looking at him in Singapore this week with the rest of the squad, he seems happy and content to be a Spurs player next season.

Great. We’ll just have to keep him.

Interesting time for Eriksen
No club is interested enough to spend on him yet he was very clearly tapped up at least a year ago so held off renewing his contract
Spurs have planned for a future without him

If Eriksen stays and we bring in Lo Celso:
Dele – Eriksen – Lamela – Son – Lo Celso – NDombele – Sissoko – Winks – Dier (if not CB). That’s a lot of mouths to feed, has Poch’s lack of rotation been out of necessity or is it just not a strong suit of his? #COYS— Kyle Gruber (@NimbusHex) July 22, 2019
