Tottenham: Fans delighted that Fernando Llorente could rejoin Spurs

There is something about football reunions that get football fans excited, and here is another one that has delighted Tottenham fans.

According to reports in Italy, the former fan favourite Fernando Llorente is under consideration by the north London side to bring in on loan for six months to deputise for the absent Harry Kane, who is suffering from a long term hamstring injury which has sidelined him until April, according to the Daily Star. Manager Jose Mourinho is hoping to sign a player who is similar to the England international’s characteristics. La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Besoccer) revealed that the English club could ask Napoli to take Llorente on loan until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old has only scored four goals in 21 appearances for Gli Azzurri during the current campaign after signing for the Serie A giants in the summer from Spurs on a free transfer, as per TransferMarkt. The Spaniard spent two seasons at Spurs and made himself a fan favourite after his goal in the Champions League quarter-final knocked Premier League champions Manchester City out of the competition (as per talkSPORT). He told the club’s website that it was one of the best moments of his career. Supporters were drooling over the prospect of his return and made their feelings clear on social media.
