Loads of Tottenham fans have been reacting to a tweet from the club’s official account showing footage of Giovani Lo Celso’s incredible skill against Southampton in the Premier League.
Despite the fact he only moved to north London last summer, it is fair to say Lo Celso has been one of Spurs’ brightest stars in a difficult season for the Lilywhites.
After arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Real Betis on loan, the 24-year-old has shown flashes of his overall brilliance, making five appearances in the Champions League, scoring one goal, taking 1.6 shots per game, averaging 1.4 key passes and successfully completing 2.8 dribbles on average (via WhoScored).
Indeed, it is his mazy run at St Mary’s that has many supporters raving on Twitter after the club posted a video of his impressive display on the south coast. Taking a loose ball from the right-back position, the Argentine weaved his way through four helpless Saints players before making a deft pass to Erik Lamela, who provided the assist for Son Heung-min’s goal (Telegraph).
Unsurprisingly, loads of Spurs fans drooled over the “brilliant” clip on social media, with one fan dubbing him a “baller” and another adding that his performance was “Messi-like” in a nod to his famous international teammate.
