Despite the Champions League final approaching, many Spurs fans were more busy concerning themselves with the revelation that they had swept away the transfer window cobwebs. According to reports earlier this week, Mauricio Pochettino’s side had tabled a mammoth £53m bid for Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso, and that immediately set the pulses racing. And if Spurs needed any more encouragement about the midfielder potentially joining the north London side this summer, then some very exciting developments on social media may just be a sign of things to come.
After Erik Lamela posted a rallying cry to his followers on Instagram (via Hotspur Related) about the Spurs players being ready for the final on Saturday, his national teammate with Argentina, Lo Celso, left a comment that certainly got tongues wagging.
The 23-year-old replied to Lamela’s post with some words of encouragement ahead of the north London side’s biggest game in history, with many Tottenham fans taking that as a surefire sign Lo Celso will be linking up with his fellow Argentine next season.
Indeed, some Spurs fans on social media urged Lamela to bring Lo Celso to Spurs, and even went so far as to describe their winger as ‘Agent Lamela’.
