Tottenham supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern this week ahead of their eagerly-anticipated North London derby with Arsenal on Saturday, what with Spurs going into that clash having won their last two matches.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men brilliantly beat European champions Real Madrid 3-1 at Wembley back on November 1 to book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League, with a brace from Dele Alli and a second half Christian Eriksen strike sealing a memorable victory for Pochettino’s Spurs. And they backed that up with an equally important success over Roy Hodgson’s Palace a few days later, with Son Heung-min’s wonderful effort midway through the second half enough to secure a vital 1-0 victory for the North London outfit, who in turn moved level on points with second place Manchester United in the Premier League table.
Subsequently, there have been several happy Spurs fans in the Tavern this week, many of whom are looking forward to their team’s trip to Arsene Wenger’s Gunners on Saturday as they seek to beat their bitter rivals away from home for the first time since 2010.
In the meantime though, there has been plenty for those Spurs supporters lining up at the bar to get their teeth into, not least a recent report which suggests that they are keeping tabs on Watford sensation Richarlison after his impressive start to the season.
The 20-year-old only moved to Vicarage Road during the summer but has hit the ground running with four goals and three assists in just 11 Premier League games for Marco Silva’s side, thus helping them to ninth place in the table.
And as such Pochettino’s men are reportedly monitoring the Brazil youth international’s progress, in news which has stimulated quite a response from Tottenham fans on Twitter.
And it’s fair to say that they are split about a possible move for the winger…
