Kieran Trippier has been a hit and miss figure this season. The ex-Burnley man gained hero status for his performances in Russia with England but has been unable to replicate that form for Tottenham, however, with Serge Aurier struggling with injuries it has been up to Trippier to toe the line on the right of Tottenham’s back four, meaning an injury to him would be catastrophic.

The news in the tweet above won’t go down well with a lot of fans, but it could be seen as brilliant news for a lot of Tottenham supporters. The groin injury that the 28-year-old suffered during The Lilywhites’ 1-0 win over Crystal Palace isn’t supposed to be a serious one and Trippier could be back as soon as the Chelsea game at Wembley on November 24th.
If Trippier does miss that game then it will probably be the erratic Aurier who is trusted with the starting spot at right-back. After playing well against Watford in the Carabao Cup before getting injured, a lot of Tottenham fans were looking forward to the defender’s return. that return came against PSV last week and after yet another performance that kept the fans on edge, Trippier will be the man they want when they face Maurizio Sarri’s Blues.

Made up our players get picked but it has an adverse affect on our progress. Not just with the England lads but also the rest of them. Having a starting 11 of all internationals can’t be helped.

The Lilywhites will be buzzing that Tripps is set to get two weeks of rest and will hope he can come back fresh for Chelsea in two week’s time.
