Tottenham fans on Twitter laud Trippier for comments on his recent form

As a professional footballer, there really is no escaping the media and the boo boys when you’re out of form. A lot of players keep their heads down and try to rectify their errors on the pitch, however, Kieran Trippier has faced it head-on, coming out and addressing his form issues in the media, an act that has earned him respect from the Lilywhites.

It takes a huge character to come out and admit that things haven’t been going well in football. Anyone who has to perform in front of thousands of people on a weekly basis is going to have their off-days, and whilst Trippier has had more than most, a lot of his critics have taken note of the way he’s come out and spoken about his on-pitch problems, as he has been the weak link in a lot of what Spurs have done this season.

At times it has been laughable, errors against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup and Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier League have made the 28-year-old a laughing stock on social media at times. Now, though, the ex-Burnley man has a chance to get some form back away from club football as he’s been called up to the England squad, and the Lilywhites are desperate for him to use this time to clear his head and regain some of his World Cup form before he returns.

The Lilywhites are more than ready to let Trippier’s errors stay in the past if he can start to pick up form, although if his poor form continues there will be real calls for him to be sold this summer.
