Tottenham fans have been left frustrated by transfers over the last two windows as they’ve signed nobody and had pretty much all of their stars and Mauricio Pochettino linked with moves away. That is again the case this time around, except The Independent is reporting that Real Madrid could offer James Rodrguez plus cash Christian Eriksen.
[@DailyStar_Sport] now understand Real Madrid would be in favour selling James Rodriguez to Tottenham Hotspur over Arsenal.
The Spanish giants want to use James Rodriguez as bait to sign Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen this summer instead of selling him outright.#THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/0uxIFFbVlt

Whether it’s in a deal for Eriksen or not, the fans aren’t exactly buzzing to see themselves linked with James Rodriguez. The Colombian international has impressed everywhere he’s gone, however, his wages coupled with the injury issues he’s had could make him a risky signing for Tottenham, and one that they definitely don’t want to swap their main man Christian Eriksen for.
The Lilywhites would rather steer clear of Rodriguez and keep Eriksen, and even if they tied down Eriksen to a new deal they’d probably want to avoid the signing of Rodriguez. His stellar record looks good on paper, but when you consider how many top players have shone in Germany, Spain and France and then flopped in the Premier League, avoiding James Rodriguez could be for the best.

The Lilywhites are keen to miss out on Rodriguez but more importantly will be desperate to keep Eriksen at the club.
