Tottenham supporters have been pretty quiet in recent times after seeing their side head into the first international break of the season off the back of a Premier League defeat.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men went into their encounter with Watford last weekend having won each of their opening three league games, beating Newcastle United, Fulham, and Manchester United to make a very encouraging start to the campaign. And they looked on course for four straight wins when an Abdoulaye Doucoure goal gave them the lead at Vicarage Road, only for headers from Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart to secure all three points for Javi Gracia’s side.
Thus, there have been many disappointed Spurs fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom have been keeping an eye on how their players have been getting on during the current international break.
And one man who has produced the goods for his country is attacker Christian Eriksen, who netted both goals as Denmark eased past Ryan Giggs’ Wales 2-0 in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday.
The 26-year-old hasn’t been at his free-flowing, influential best for Tottenham in the early stages of the season but certainly looked the part in Aarhus at the weekend, helping his country begin their Nations League campaign with a routine victory.
And his exploits on the international stage have prompted quite a reaction from Spurs fans on Twitter, with several calling for the Dane to take that form into Tottenham’s Premier League campaign…
