Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to transfer link with Morgan Sanson

Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Marseille’s Morgan Sanson, according to L’Equipe via @thespursweb.

The French outlet claims Pini Zahavi has taken charge of handling Sanson’s affairs and has offered the midfielder to Spurs, as well as Arsenal and Everton.

After arriving at the Stade Velodrome from Montpellier for £8.1m in January 2017, the former French under-21 international has lit up Ligue 1, scoring five goals and recording four assists in 27 appearances, taking 1.4 shots per game, averaging 1.1 key passes, and successfully completing 1.5 dribbles on average (via WhoScored).

However, Daniel Levy may baulk at the Olympians’ asking price, as the report states Marseille value the 25-year-old at somewhere in the region of £31m to £35.5m. Zahavi has privately told the Phocaeans’ president Jacques-Henri Eyraud that clubs will be unable to meet this staggering valuation in the current economic climate. The super agent also represents Southampton star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who is at the top of Jose Mourinho’s shortlist.

As expected, many of the Tottenham faithful reacted to Sanson’s “decent” transfer link, with one fan tweeting he is “average” and another adding “yes please.”
