Tottenham supporters in the Transfer Tavern are very much looking forward to their side’s first home game of the 2018/19 Premier League season, which takes place at Wembley on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have had to call upon the national stadium to host their coming few league games given their new stadium is not yet ready, and as such they will host Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham at Wembley this weekend. And having won 2-1 at Newcastle United on their opening day, the North Londoners will be sincerely hoping that they can maintain their 100% start to the new season by collecting all three points in the capital on Saturday.
Thus, there are many excited Tottenham fans up and down the country at present, several of whom are likely to be intrigued by recent comments from Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce (via talkSPORT) regarding Spurs’ pursuit of Jack Grealish over the summer.
The 22-year-old was repeatedly linked with a move to Pochettino’s side during the close season after a fine campaign for Championship side Villa last time round, although the English deadline passed with the youngster remaining at Villa Park.
Yet the Villans endured huge financial difficulties in the early phase of the summer to thus leave them vulnerable to a move from Tottenham for Grealish, with manager Bruce admitting that Spurs had their chance to land the attacker pre-takeover, only to fail to take it.
Thus, these revelations have stimulated quite a response from Spurs fans on Twitter, with many frustrated with chairman Daniel Levy for waiting too long to get a better deal for the Villa ace…
Typical levy. Thought our financial position would allow him to offer a low amount right at the end of the window and we’d be forced to accept it.

Sums up that man who runs our club again, tries to be clever and ballsed it right up AGAIN!

We all know that as spurs fans. The problem is our chairman Mr Last minute. We need someone solely in charge of transfers on the board. I think he has single handily upset every other chairman in the world.

Rather obvious this! Levy wanted to get him on the cheap and probably would’ve but the unexpected takeover killed that off. Hopefully for the player’s sake, he hasn’t missed out indefinitely on the spurs move.

Another example of Levy’s lack of ambition. COYS

We don’t actually need him . What’s he done ??

Maybe. Maybe we just didn’t want him that much.
