Several Spurs fans have reacted to the news that the club have declined an offer from Real Madrid to offload Gareth Bale (AS, via the Daily Hotspur).
The Wales international is hopeful of securing a move away, while Zinedine Zidane has come out and said the club ‘hopes he leaves soon’.
However, despite the Madrid manager’s desire for him to vacate the Spanish capital, the 30-year-old’s record for them remains impressive – 102 goals in 231 games and a part of the side which won four Champions Leagues in five seasons.
Yet now it seems his time is up at the Bernabeu and a return to Spurs has been touted, although there is also said to be interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
Bale scored 56 goals in 203 games for Spurs before moving to the Spanish giants back in 2013 for what was at the time a world record fee.
But a return to the north London outfit has a major stumbling block surrounding the player’s wages.
There is a lot to consider with regards to the purchase of Bale and some Spurs fans have given a mixed reaction to the rejected offer by Spurs.

This isn’t me saying I don’t want Gareth Bale back at Spurs. I wouldn’t be totally against it.
I don’t see how he will fit into our budget.
