Some Spurs fans have given a mixed reaction to the news that Toby Alderweireld is set to stay at the club despite rumours linking him with a move, according to Sky Sports News.
The Belgian has been linked with Roma, while Tottenham were rumoured to be in for the Italian side’s Nicolo Zaniolo.
Alderweireld has spent four years at Spurs after joining from Atletico Madrid back in 2015 on a five-year deal for a fee of £11.4million.
And the 30-year-old has played 159 times for the Lilywhites over the past four seasons, scoring six goals and assisting three more.
Last season the former Southampton man made 50 appearances for the north London outfit that included starting 12 of Spurs’ 13 Champions League games in which they had an incredible run to the final.
And there has been support from several supporters of the club who are happy that he looks to be staying.
Yet others believe it may have been better to sell him given he has just one-year left on his contract.

Losing him for £25m is also bad business as you can’t replace him with a player of the same quality or expect a player with potential to hit the ground running, I’d rather have him for the season and identify his replacement over the season for next summer!
