Plenty of Tottenham fans have been reacting to the club’s tweet about Tanguy Ndombele, and it seems the supporters are starting to lose patience with the injury-prone midfielder.
After signing Ndombele for a club-record fee of £53.8m, Spurs fans could be forgiven for thinking he would re-energise their lacklustre midfield, but energy is the last thing he appears to have.
Indeed, the France international has managed less than 700 minutes (Transfermarkt) of Premier League action, struggling with hamstring and groin injuries.
And, after Jose Mourinho revealed that the 23 year-old did not want to play against Brighton on Boxing Day due to fears about his fitness, fans have issued an extremely negative reaction to the club’s birthday wish.
Ndombele turned 23 on Saturday, and while he is expected to take some part against Norwich later today, supporters can’t resist a little dig at his struggles so far this campaign.
