This summer is already shaping up to be a massive one for Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine gaffer may have forgotten how to sign players after their last two transfer window, but according to Calcio Mercato, the Lilywhites are set to compete with both Inter Milan and Bayern Munich to sign Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech.

The Moroccan international has been incredible this season – scoring 20 goals across all competitions – and has come to prominence alongside most of his Ajax teammates for the Dutch club’s run to the Champions League last four. It also looks like the Eredivisie side aren’t done yet either as they lead Tottenham 1-0 going into the second leg in Amsterdam tomorrow night. In the first leg, the Lilywhites saw Ziyech up close, and they’ll like what they’ve seen.
As if the midfield man’s two goals in two games against Real Madrid in the round of sixteen of the Champions League wasn’t enough, he went and showed Tottenham fans what he’s all about when he fed the ball through for Donny van de Beek to open the scoring in North London. The Lilywhites are looking at the Moroccan as a Christian Eriksen (the Dane has been strongly linked with Real Madrid by AS via the Daily Mail) replacement if he does sign, and that is a move that a lot of Tottenham fans would like to see.
