Tottenham fans will be losing their minds if their two-window transfer hiatus extends to a third. The chances of that happening are so slim, though, as the rumours are already flying around of players set to join the Lilywhites. One of those rumours has linked the club with a £40 million move for Nicolo Zaniolo, and the fans would love that.

The rumours have come via The Daily Mirror, although it’s hard to see a way in which Roma will allow their 19-year-old midfield star to leave for a fee of £40 million, or around 45.5 million euros. The Italian has been one of the stars of Roma’s season, and with his versatility to feature as a #10 or a #8 in midfield as well as out on the right, if Mauricio Pochettino can get this deal done it will be a superb signing.
This summer already has the feel of one that Tottenham fans can get excited about. New faces are expected in a number of areas, and with some star players who are already at the club set to leave too, it could be a massive few months for the Champions League finalists. If they’re to maintain their levels and make it back to this stage of the Champions League in future seasons then players like Zaniolo will have to be brought in.
