Fernando Llorente is no longer a Tottenham player anymore. The big Spanish striker was released at the end of the 2018/19 season as his contract expired, although the Lilywhites have since tried to re-sign him on lower wages, something Llorente has rejected.
Fernando Llorente has rejected an approach from #thfc to re-sign for the club on a free transfer. The striker rejected a potential return due to the new terms offered being significantly less than his previous £90,000-a-week contract. [Football Insider]

The fans below have all got an opinion on the Llorente situation too, and plenty of them, as you will see, are not happy with the big man for turning down their club’s contract offer as a result of the lower wages that are being offered to him.
The news of the contract offer has come from Football Insider, and it’s claimed that the striker is open to returning to the Premier League, but has rejected Spurs’ offer that was on the table that would have seen his wages greatly reduced from the £90,000 per/week he was earning.

ANYONE over 30 is being offered reduced wages, it’s why Jan has kicked off

The man is unbelievable. He’s trash but thinks he deserves mega money. Never wanted him and it’s Christmas he’s going. Let sessegnon be a striker when needed.

Tottenham Hotspur according to some of our deluded fans have ambition. Yet instead of trying to improve the squad we offer an old has-bean who wasn’t even good enough for us in the first place a new contract . And he rejected us . #levyout

My man thinks Madrid are gonna come knocking after his goal against City. Hardly worth 60K a week, never mind 90K.

90k but that probably don’t include goal bonuses. If he feels that he will get more elsewhere and more game time in a good competitive league at his age then good luck to him .

The Tottenham fans aren’t best pleased that Llorente has turned them down, and it looks like he has played his last game for them.
