Tottenham: Fans want to see an end to Christian Eriksen’s transfer saga

Tottenham fans have lost patience with the ongoing transfer saga with midfielder Christian Eriksen and want to see him leave the club sooner rather than later.

Ongoing negotiations have rumbled on throughout the January transfer window with the Evening Standard revealing that Spurs are holding out for a £17m bid from Inter to sell the Denmark international in January. Eriksen’s contract expires at the end of the season and clubs are now able to negotiate a Bosman transfer, as per TransferMarkt. Manager Jose Mourinho claimed this week that they have not received any bids from the Serie A giants, but the club’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta confirmed discussions were taking place between the two clubs, as per Evening Standard.

As his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium draws to a close, Eriksen has scored 69 goals and conjured up 89 assists in a total of 304 games and over 24,000 minutes, according to TransferMarkt. The 27-year-old never stated his wishes to leave the club, but admitted that it could be time for a “new challenge”, as cited by football.london. Supporters just want the dilemma to come to an end.
