The annual Stadium of the Year Award was presented once again in 2020 and even though Tottenham Hotspur’s new home is a sight to behold, they were still edged out and could only earn second place in the race.
This year, we saw 21 stadiums from 19 different countries and the winner in the category of Public Award was The Puskas Arena in Budapest that was opened in October 2019.
In the jury vote, Spurs’ stadium came fifth but they were voted higher than any other stadium in the top ten when it came to innovation, which is definitely a huge accomplishment.
Alasdair Gold, however, doesn’t really agree and he even went as far as to call the outcome controversial.

To be completely fair, it does look beautiful and has all the cutting-edge technology as well.
After all, a lot of money has been invested in it but getting second-place with so many other competitors in the game is still a good achievement.
