Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to report suggesting they have been priced out of Jack Grealish transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have been priced out of a summer transfer swoop for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, that is according to Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold.

In a Q&A, Gold admitted that Spurs had made an “utter mess” of things when they tried to sign the midfielder two summers ago – indeed their bids fell well short of the asking price at the time (The Guardian).

Reports from the Birmingham Mail have linked the north London outfit with another move for the 24-year-old in the upcoming window, but it seems that the fee may once again stop any transfer from happening as the journalist doesn’t think Spurs will look to spend big this summer.

Indeed, in the Q&A Gold said: “That [Grealish’s good form] will only have increased his value and even if Aston Villa do get relegated I can’t see Tottenham spending big money on anyone this summer in the current climate – particularly in that position – unless they offload someone for big money.”

Loads of Lilywhites fans are absolutely fuming at this, with many of them slamming Daniel Levy for not one but two reasons. Firstly because it seems that he will refuse to spend money on the £27.45m-valued Grealish in the next window and secondly because he refused to stump up the cash a couple of years ago when he was available for less.
