According to Record, Tottenham and manager Jose Mourinho are interested in snapping up Benfica striker Haris Seferovic on a season-long loan with an option-to-buy as they search for Harry Kane’s perfect back-up option – and the Lilywhites could certainly do far worse than an established goalscoring international.
Seferovic, who bagged an impressive 23 goals in 29 appearances domestically for the Primeira Liga side over 2018/2019, hitting a slight slump in form last campaign, is currently at the centre of an enquiry as per this update.

Indeed, as Tottenham scour the market for Kane’s perfect complement, many names have been linked in the press – with FC Metz striker Habib Diallo, Danny Ings, Andrea Belotti and Arkadiusz Milik just a few of the striking options who have emerged as potential Spurs targets.
Now, as per Record, the Lilywhites could be eyeing a swoop for Seferovic after having a January bid knocked back – with the notion being to take him on a season-long temporary deal and consider a permanent move thereafter.
Currently valued at around £9 million by Transfermarkt, the Swiss forward is an established international for his country with 66 caps in total at just 28-years-old – all the while representing a cheaper alternative which could entice chairman Daniel Levy.

The Tottenham board has already been making moves so far this summer, landing five new acquisitions including the sensational return of club icon Gareth Bale, with two more swoops apparently on the agenda (football.london).
One of those must be a striker according to recent reports, especially given the lack of depth behind Kane, and Seferovic stands out as a potential bargain given his exploits, experience and value.
