Tottenham Hotspur: Danny Ings has ‘plenty of admirers’ at Spurs amid Bale and Reguilon signings

As Tottenham Hotspur sign both Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon in a sensational double swoop, the club are not stopping there as the search for a new striker continues – and reliable football.london correspondent Alasdair Gold has confirmed that Southampton striker Danny Ings is a target.

Ings, who bagged 22 goals in 38 appearances for the Saints last season in the Premier League, becoming a key player for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, is now being linked with a potential move to north London.

As reported in the media, Tottenham are eyeing a forward after securing both Bale and Reguilon, and Ings has ‘plenty of admirers‘ at the club given the fact he is homegrown and had the season of his life over 2019/2020.

Gold, writing on Twitter, has relayed his update that Spurs are indeed keen on the Englishman – even after having an initial approach recently rejected – and he may cost more than his £18 million Transfermarkt valuation.

Indeed, with star striker Harry Kane being their only natural centre-forward option at the moment, it’s arguably imperative that chairman Daniel Levy eyes any potential alternatives as the 2020/2021 season gets underway.

Tottenham released former secondary forward Fernando Llorente last summer, failing to find a suitable replacement for over a year, but securing moves for Reguilon and the heroic return of a club icon is certainly a step in the right direction.

If manager Jose Mourinho wishes to guide the club back to Champions League qualification this campaign, he will need all the help he can get, and Ings is a player who could certainly inject fresh attacking potency.

Spurs fans, do you want to see Ings in north London? Have your say in the comments below…
