According to an update from Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, ‘the race is still on’ for Real Madrid star Sergio Reguilon despite Man United considering him as an ‘option’ this summer – with Tottenham reportedly taking an interest in the defender recently.
Indeed, Romano confirmed via the Last Word on Spurs podcast last week that Reguilon had been ‘offered‘ to Tottenham along with Chelsea, and the Italian has now claimed that United are also being gifted a chance to swoop.
The £22 million-rated Spaniard, who enjoyed a fruitful spell on loan at Sevilla over 2019/2020, starting 29 La Liga games for the club and going on to clinch a Europa League title, has had no shortage of suitors according to this report.

As well as the Premier League trio, Sevillistas Rojiblancos are currently enquiring over taking him back on loan at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, with the race well and truly on for his signature with just under a month remaining of the transfer window.
Given this latest update, despite Spurs currently not being in talks to sign the player, chairman Daniel Levy could throw his hat in the ring given that all of Reguilion’s potential suitors may have an opportunity to commence negotiations.

United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are indeed weighing up an approach, with a decision to be made ‘soon‘, but the Lilywhites could still become contenders by strengthening their interest.
As Danny Rose contemplates his future in north London, the club debatably require new left-back options as Jose Mourinho gears up for his first full season in charge.
