Kalidou Koulibaly wants to leave Napoli in the January transfer window and Tottenham Hotspur would like to sign him, that is according to Italian journalist Fabio Santini (Area Napoli via Football.London).
However, he also reports that the Italian club have a high valuation on the player and want €120m (£101m) if they are to allow the Senegalese defender to leave.
With both Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen out of contract in the summer (Transfermarkt), signing a new centre-back is likely to be a major priority for Mourinho in upcoming transfer windows.
Bringing in Koulibaly would certainly be a statement by the club. Indeed, he has been outstanding in recent years in Serie A and was even named as the best defender in the division last season (Football Italia).
However, it is a huge amount of money that Napoli want for the centre-back and it appears that many Spurs fans aren’t too hopeful of signing him now as they feel that Daniel Levy will not pay that sort of money for the 28-year-old.
