Mauricio Pochettino is now free to take the next step in his managerial career, according to The Telegraph.
Clubs will no longer have to pay compensation to Tottenham Hotspur or negotiate with chairman Daniel Levy if they wish to hire the Argentine.
Despite taking some time out, Pochettino is still regarded as one of Europe’s top managers, and he has attracted attention from a number of potential suitors, including the likes of AC Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Indeed, the Magpies are reportedly desperate to make him the new head coach after the takeover is finally completed, but former Chelsea player Craig Burley believes he could snub the Black and Whites (Express).
Speaking to ESPN, Burley remarked ‘Poch’ may want to bide his time for the right opportunity, saying “he had his time at Tottenham, a great time at Tottenham, but he had to build that up over five years with relative resources.”
He added “he’ll have to do that again at Newcastle with who knows what kind of money after the takeover. It’s a sit-and-wait for Mauricio Pochettino. If Newcastle were to get him, it would be a huge coup for that club.”

After arriving at White Hart Lane from Southampton back in 2014, the 48-year-old went on to manage 293 games for the Lilywhites, winning 160 games in total.
Naturally, many Spurs fans discussed Pochettino’s latest update on Twitter, with one fan urging the old boss to “take a sabbatical,” and another commenting “please don’t go to Manchester United.”
