Tottenham Hotspur: Fans discuss Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s latest transfer update

Tottenham are interested in buying Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and will assess their options after the pandemic, according to The Daily Telegraph

Hojbjerg has been at the top of Jose Mourinho’s list of targets for a while but Daniel Levy will work out the Portuguese’s budget in the summer.

Levy faces stiff competition from Premier League rivals Everton for the Southampton star, although the chairman has previously stated he is not looking to make new signings whilst football is at a standstill.

After arriving at St Mary’s Stadium for £13.5m from Bayern Munich, the 24-year-old has played 28 games in the Premier League for Ralph Hasenhuttl this term, creating 1 assist, making 2.4 tackles per game, averaging 1.5 interceptions, and successfully completing 1.7 clearances (via WhoScored).

In comparison, Harry Winks has made 23 appearances for Mourinho’s side in the English top flight, registering 1.3 tackles on average, attempting 1 interception, and providing 0.8 clearances per game this season (WhoScored).

Understandably, a whole number of Lilywhites took to social media to discuss Hojbjerg’s transfer update, with one fan suggesting he “starts ahead of Winks,” and another adding the Saints player is “classy.”
