Tottenham Hotspur: Fans give mixed reaction to Foyth and Walker-Peters being given the chance to prove themselves

There has been mixed reaction from some Spurs fans after reports Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters will be given a week to convince Mauricio Pochettino they are viable right-back options for the new campaign (Daily Mail).

Last season’s first choice Kieran Trippier, who made 38 appearances for Tottenham in 2018/19, was sold to Atletico Madrid earlier this week for £20million.

And the Lilywhites have also said they are open to offers for their Ivory Coast international Serge Aurier, a move which would open the door for Foyth and Walker-Peters to stake a claim as one of the first names on the team sheet.

The pair played a combined total of 27 games last season, with Foyth bagging a goal and Walker-Peters providing three assists.

There have been some supporters of the Champions League finalists who are positive about the idea of the pair being given a run in the team.

But due to their youthfulness – aged 21 and 22 years old respectively – several Spurs fans have had their doubts about whether or not they can step up and perform regularly at the top level.

Here is just some of the reaction:
