According to ESPN, the Premier League is unlikely to restart on June 12 as previously hoped.
Sources told James Olley clubs are expected to push for a Friday date later in the month to work out the timeframe for a return to competitive action.
Tottenham Hotspur versus Manchester United is being touted as the opening clash to get football up and running again.

Last week, teams returned to first team training as part of the Premier League’s plans to restart the season, otherwise known as ‘Project Restart.’
Although some players have refused to take part in the socially-distanced groups, including the likes of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Watford captain Troy Deeney, the government has given the green light for squads to resume close-contact training.
Meetings are expected to take place later this week to map out the next phase of the training programmes and to organise a framework for the remaining fixtures required to finish the season.
A further delay could play into Spurs’ hands, as star striker Harry Kane, Steve Bergwijn and Son Heung-min can continue to train together at Enfield as Jose Mourinho’s side aim to challenge for European football by the end of the campaign.
Unsurprisingly, loads of Spurs fans gushed over the journalist’s update after @thespursweb shared the news on Twitter, with one fan tweeting it will be a “big” game, and another adding “United ain’t ready.”
Meanwhile, others were simply excited at the prospect of seeing Bergwijn, Son and Kane line-up in the same 11 for the first time.
