Tottenham Hotspur: Fans laud transfer link to Thomas Partey

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Thomas Partey this summer, according to @JordanM_Choco via Daily Hotspur.

The football journalist tweeted Spurs are one of three clubs who are eyeing up a move for the Atletico Madrid star before the start of next season.

Jose Mourinho is in the hunt for a new defensive midfielder, as it is fair to say Tanguy Ndombele hasn’t lived up to pre-season expectations so far, and the Portuguese manager admires Partey’s record.

Having climbed through the ranks at the Wando Metropolitano Stadium, the 26-year-old has emerged as one of the best midfielders in Europe, playing in 174 games for Diego Simeone’s Red and Whites, scoring 15 goals and creating 12 assists. He is currently valued at £36m according to Transfermarkt.

The Ghanaian international has made 24 appearances in La Liga this season, making 1.2 tackles per game, registering 1.4 interceptions, and successfully completing 1.2 clearances on average per WhoScored.

Naturally, his performances over the years have attracted attention from numerous suitors, and Daniel Levy faces stiff competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United to bring the midfielder to London.

Unsurprisingly, loads of Lilywhites raved over the transfer link, with one fan commenting he is “an instant upgrade on Ndombele.”
